Gender programmes

The Ministry of Social Affairs has announced the opening of the calls for small projects of the gender equality programme and the gender-based violence programme financed from Norway Grants.

Under the call for proposals of the gender equality programme, activities that are aimed at promoting gender equality and/or are contributing to the reconciliation of work, family and private life via enhancing the capacity of organisations and networks with the ultimate aim of improving gender balance in society, are supported. Any entity, public or private, commercial or non-commercial and non-governmental organisations, established as legal entities in Estonia as well as inter-governmental organisations operating in Estonia are all considered as eligible applicants. Partnerships between local and foreign organizations are permissible and encouraged. The total amount of the grant that will be distributed is 370 000 Euros. The minimum size of one grant is 5 000 Euros and the maximum amount is 50 000 Euros.

Under the call for proposals of the gender-based violence programme, activities that are aimed at decreasing the prevalence and impacts of gender-based violence and trafficking in human beings and sexual violence by strengthening the capacity of NGOs active in the field, are supported. Applications can be submitted under one of the two merged areas: 1. preventing and tackling gender-based violence or 2. supporting the victims of trafficking and sexual violence. Non-governmental organisations, established as legal entities in Estonia are considered as eligible applicants. Partnerships between local and foreign organizations are allowed and encouraged. The total amount of the grant that will be distributed is 208 000 Euros, from which 104 000 Euros will be allocated to projects dealing with domestic and gender-based violence and 104 000 Euros will be allocated to projects dealing with trafficking in human beings and sexual violence. The minimum size of one grant is 5 000 euros and the maximum amount is 40 000 euros.

The deadline for submission of applications is for both calls June 2nd, 2014 at 12:00 Estonian time.
